Website Migration to Responsive, WordPress BeTheme

About This Project

Situation:

Our client wanted to replace its Kentico website with WordPress. The existing Kentico CMS was not user-friendly for the marketing staff to make the needed content updates and changes. It was time-consuming and challenging for non-technical staff to make edits. They also wanted to create additional landing pages for drip campaigns which posed another set of challenges. The existing site was not responsive creating a poor mobile user experience.

Task:

BTS was tasked with migrating the existing website to WordPress BeTheme in 5 weeks. We were asked to keep the same content and look and feel of the existing site to preclude getting internal permissions and triggering audits and compliance procedures while adding an edge-to-edge design for a more modern feel.

Action:

We created design mockups and wireframes to show how the site might look within the BeTheme. Since we were working with a template, we clearly communicated what could and could not be done within the theme framework. We had to adjust some theme settings to maintain content and design integrity and used Muffin Builder to build out the pages within the site. We tested responsiveness across browsers and mobile devices including form submissions.

Result:

The new website is now easy for the marketing staff to update and create new landing pages as needed. The mobile experience is more intuitive and requires little technical prowess. The new website launched within the promised 5-week timeline.
